What a wonderful world indeed! When I listen to Lloyd Williams singing his version of the mega hit from Louis Armstrong "Wonderful World“ I believe it. The vocal contrast is surprisingly satisfying. The lazy breezy version from Armstrong and the soulful well-harmonized version are very different but both are enjoyable to listen. The Williams version is a typical Jamaican studio recording of male choruses. The rendition is not as soulful as Lloyd William’s other recording such as "Is It Because I'm Black“ but worthy to be in every valuable collection.
The B side features an instrumental from the master musician Tommy McCook and the Supersonics. Tommy McCook is a tenor saxophonist who was greatly influenced by jazz musician John Coltrane. The Supersonics Band, also known as the Duke Reid’s All Stars, was Treasure Isle's studio band.
