The Dance Crashers is a Jamaican music project that is committed to the pure style, with little fusion, trying to remain as faithful as possible to the origins of the traditional music of the island of Jamaica, but with a contemporary sound. In January 2018 they released their debut album "Fabulous Coconut", where they already reflected great musical and production skills. Now, after two years of intense work, The Dance Crashers returns to the fray.
It is a conceptual album in which the action takes place in the fictional neighborhood of RAWTOWN and is divided into four chapters, inspired by the phases of the moon. These 4 phases illustrate a cyclical process that goes from darkness to light, darkness being a reflection of individualism and light the symbol of the feeling of total community. The album narrates how the individual reinvents his spaces and learns to share them, drinking from the legacy of the generations that preceded us and putting everything learned collectively at the disposal of those to come.
The plot line is musically armored by a succession of themes in which the band walks through a wide range of the styles of Jamaican music, always in a justified way, and with an intrinsic link to its own roots.
