They call it Northern Reggae, a one-hundred proof blend of raspy rocksteady, sizzling soul, surf swagger and punk rock pedigree shaken with a double shot of the roughest roots reggae your ears have ever tasted.

Formed in the mean, cold streets of Montreal, The Beatdown has only been together for 4 years but has rolled from city to city across the world and played more than 300 shows in 15 countries. Each show turns into a party, people relish in the sound that is The Beatdown and ask for more and more and more of their infectious grooves.

Now the heavy Northern Reggae sound is back and in full effect with Let’s Go!.  Taken from the Walkin’ Proud recording session and done almost entirely live off the floor, the 4 songs capture the raw live energy, the tough as nails sound that has made The Beatdown an established underground favorite with fans and newbies alike.

Following hot on the heels of their acclaimed 2010 self-titled debut and their sophomore record “Walkin’ Proud” (2012), Let’s Go! is an apologetic collection of 4 hard driving, soulful bangers coming straight from the gut.  Gritty and ass-shakingly catchy, Let’s Go! serves up 4 ferocious numbers with a respectful nod to the old-school Jamaican sound while adding their own innovative flavor to the mix.
