Smooth Beans

After being just two years on the road and this Spanish band suddenly became one of the big names in classic jamaican music in Spain and one of the most ofently performers all around the country.

The first band’s year was a great starting earning the first prize on the Cantabiran Music Contest. They invested the money they earned winning the trophy in recording in the best reggae studio in Spain. Just a few months later they released their first single, a 45rpm titled “Cantabria’s Finest” which is nowadays (6 months later) out of press.

Smooth Beans spent their second year in activity on the road, taking their personal sound to each and every corner in the country, playing at the most well known clubs and the most important festivals. One of the highlights in their short carrer was to be chosen for closing the Ska Club stage at the Rototom Sunsplash Festival  2010, the most important jamaican music festival in Europe with over 150.000 people in the last edition in August 2010, ending the year releasing their first long play titled ‘At Low Fyah!’, an album which got great reviews and situated the band as one of the highlights from the european scene.

Their third record under Liquidator label is the album ‘Keep Talking’, released both on LP and CD as well as digital download.

By the end of 2013 the band celebrates their 5th aniversary with a big show in their hometown featuring some great guest musicians and the release of a limited 7″ called ‘Sing, Flip And Twist’.

Their last release up to date is a limited 7″ released with Liquidator featuring a cover version of ‘Stop That Train’ in Spanish and a killer reggae tune entitled ‘Reggae Time’.
